The O’Donnell House Wedding Venue
The O’Donnell House in Palm Springs is my favorite Palm Springs wedding venue. If you know me, you know i’m a sucker for Bougainvillea flowers. The O’Donnell house property is covered in them! So much that you don’t really need to invest a ton into ceremony florals. I love being a Palm Springs wedding photographer because no matter what property you’re at you always get the coolest clients and the best views. This property has an easy transition to cocktail hour with the best Palm Springs views. It’s an all outdoor venue so bring your favorite retro shades!
About the Couple
Grace & Patrick are laid back and down to earth. They wanted wedding photography to be painless and authentic. We worked to make sure Patrick felt comfortable in front of the camera but also quickly so they could get back to the important things like partying with their guests! Grace and Patrick had the most chill celebration. They spent most of their time mingling at cocktail hour and skipped out on a lot of the traditions that took away time from their guests. Their florist was the one and only Native Poppy.
Getting Ready Location in Palm Springs:
Grace and Patrick opted to get ready at the Palm Springs Hyatt but the rooms were a little dark! We even picked up our own room and had the bride and her girls come get ready in our slightly brighter room. Have your guest stay at the Hyatt but I suggest splurging for a room at The Rowan Palm Springs. The Rowan has epic decor in their brightly lit rooms and a lot to work with around the property. The hotel is so close to The O’Donnell House that you can do your first look and then walk with your bridal party over to the venue. I love how Grace opted for jean button ups rather than basic getting ready robes. Nice touch girlfriend! I think we have all seen the blush silk robes by now, am I right?!
TIPS for the O’Donnell House:
-Be sure to do some sort of portraits in the ceremony site before the sun disappears behind the mountains. It makes a huge difference in photography! We had to do “sunset” portraits before the ceremony for Grace & Patricks wedding.
-If you’re having a larger crowd, leave out one chair on the left side/second row for the photographer to stand during portions of the ceremony. It’s a tight space otherwise & we want to make sure we get a few different angles for you!
