Hacienda Chiconcuac Wedding Cuernavaca
Hacienda Chiconcuac is a gorgeous wedding venue. Its located in Cuernavaca Mexico. Words will never fully be able to express Nelly & Yannick’s destination wedding. To sum it up, Guest flew from Paris, Germany and England to attend their multi cultural shaman/ Catholic wedding.
It was truly out of this world. Nelly & Yannick first did a traditional Catholic mass. It took place on the property’s open air medieval church! The dramatic entrance + opera singer had everyone floored. After that, the couple led guest to the cocktail hour with a Mariachi parade. Next up, A shaman ceremony!
I love that Yannick had a groomsgirl! & she was the life of the party!
The getting ready rooms on property are gorgeous however, they are a little dark. We opted to bring Nelly out onto the patio where it was simplistic & bright. I love all the details on property like this wooden door!
First Look at Hacienda Chiconcuac
The dramatic arches and natural light was the perfect spot for Nelly & Yannick’s first look. Hacienda Chiconcuac is full of flowering plants, secret rooftops & tunnels that lead you out to gorgeous courtyards!
Instead of bouquets Nelly opted for the bridesmaids to have hats adorned with florals. It was sooo chic & they had plenty of hands to help their bride/ hold margaritas ;).
I have to say, I love traveling to Cabo, Puerto Vallarta & the Yucatan. However, nothing compares to visiting small untouched towns like Cuernavaca. We were all enriched with culture.
Traditional Catholic Mass
You guys, that’s an OPERA SINGER on the balcony. It was seriously goosebump worthy as everyone prayed for the couple.
Shaman Ceremony
After cocktail hour the guest were invited to bring their drinks & make their way underneath a 100 + year old jungle tree. Meanwhile, a Shaman burned copal and and prepared for a spiritual ceremony.
This moment was probably the most magical & memorable of my entire career as a destination wedding photographer. The shaman called to the winds to bless the couple & all of the sudden the wind picked up, moving all the plants & trees carrying flowers right onto the couple. Everyone was crying and freaking out! I still can’t believe it!
