Engagement Photos at The Lafayette Hotel | San Diego Wedding Photographer
When Hannah reached out to plan her engagement session, I was immediately excited. Hannah and Payson are getting married later this year in Julian, and it was time to capture their engagement photos before their big day. As a San Diego wedding photographer, I always love when couples choose unique and iconic locations for their sessions. When Hannah told me she wanted their photos taken at The Lafayette Hotel, I knew it was going to be something special.
The Lafayette Hotel is one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions and Lafayette Hotel weddings in San Diego. The space is full of character, color, and vintage charm. Every corner of the hotel feels like stepping into a perfectly designed set, which makes it a dream location for photographs.
For their session, Hannah reserved the Penthouse Suite, which gave us the most beautiful backdrop to work with. From the textures to the natural light pouring through the windows, the suite created such an elevated and intimate setting for their engagement photos.
Hannah is actually an interior designer, so it made perfect sense that she chose a location like The Lafayette Hotel. Her eye for style showed in every detail, from the wardrobe choices to how naturally she and Payson fit into the aesthetic of the space. We spent time planning outfits that would complement the hotel’s retro design and bold colors, and everything came together effortlessly.
Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing couples in locations that reflect their personalities. The Lafayette Hotel has such a strong design identity that it adds depth and story to every image.
